Hacksaw

Metalworking and Blacksmithing Tools

A hacksaw is a fine-toothed saw originally, and still mainly, built for cutting metal; the equivalent saw for wood is usually called a bow saw. Most hacksaws are hand saws with a C-shaped frame holding a disposable blade under tension, fitted with a pistol-grip handle and, often, an adjustable frame to fit blades of different sizes, with a screw or similar mechanism used to tension the blade.
