A crochet technique, also called Corner Box or Diagonal Box Stitch, worked diagonally from one corner of a piece to the opposite corner using blocks of double crochet, most often three stitches per block, increased along one edge and eventually decreased along the other to complete a square or rectangle. Because each block can be assigned its own color, C2C is especially popular for graphic, pixel-style designs such as flags, portraits or logos; though it saw a surge in popularity through online tutorials from the early 2000s onward, the underlying technique had been in use for decades before.
