Concepts and Movements

The movements and ideas that shape how crafts and hobbies are practiced and understood: the Arts and Crafts movement, mingei, the maker movement, do-it-yourself, craftivism, upcycling, folk art and studio pottery among them. This band holds the idea or movement itself, not the individual figures who championed it or the institutions that formalized it, each a separate entity linked back here by relationship.
