A needle threader is a small device that helps guide thread through the eye of a sewing needle, a fiddly step for anyone with reduced eyesight or dexterity. Many designs exist, but the common type is built around a short length of fine wire bent into a diamond shape, with one corner of the diamond fixed to a small tab of tinplate or plastic that the user holds. The wire loop is pushed through the needle's eye, the thread is passed through the wire loop, and the loop is then pulled back through the eye, drawing the thread along with it.
