The National Quilt Museum, in Paducah, Kentucky, is an art museum devoted to fiber art and quilting from around the world, founded on April 25, 1991, by Bill and Meredith Schroeder. It is the only museum dedicated to contemporary quilts and quiltmakers, holding more than 600 quilts across three gallery spaces with two devoted to rotating exhibitions. In May 2008 the United States Congress officially designated it the National Quilt Museum of the United States, and it draws roughly 40,000 visitors a year.
