Hot Air Ballooning

Hot Air Ballooning is the recreational and competitive adventure sport of flying hot air balloons, prized for its quiet, apart from the occasional roar of the propane burner, its lack of any felt sensation of movement, and its bird's eye view of the ground below, since a balloon travelling with the wind gives its passengers almost no sense of wind at all except while climbing or descending into a current of air moving at a different speed. The Federation Aeronautique Internationale recognises hot air ballooning as the safest air sport, and United States National Transportation Safety Board statistics bear this out, recording only a small number of fatalities across the sport's history.
