Highpointing is the activity of ascending to the point of highest natural elevation within a given area, called the highpoint, and those who pursue it are known as highpointers. Highpointing is considered a subset of peak bagging, whose own goal is to reach the summit of every mountain on a chosen list, with highpointing narrowing that pursuit to the single highest point of each area on the highpointer's list rather than every peak within it.
