Baking bread, cakes, pastries and other goods at home for the household's own table, apart from baking as a commercial trade. Long a routine domestic task rather than a choice, it has also become a deliberately chosen hobby in its own right, pursued for pleasure rather than necessity.

OriginHome baking is an ancient domestic practice.
