A screw gun is a power tool built specifically for driving screws, shaped like a power drill but fitted with a nose in place of a chuck. It takes an interchangeable quarter-inch shank bit, commonly a Phillips, Torx or flathead tip, and its adjustable nose lets the user set how deeply a screw is countersunk; pressure on the nose engages the tool clutch to drive the screw. Screw guns are made in both corded and cordless versions, and some add an autofeed mechanism that feeds screws from a collated strip.
