Rake (Tool)

A rake is a broom built for outside use, a versatile horticultural implement consisting of a toothed bar fixed transversely to a handle, or of tines fixed to a handle, used to collect leaves, hay and grass. In gardening a rake is also used for loosening the soil, light weeding, making furrows and mounds, levelling ground and removing dead grass from lawns, and generally for the kind of work performed at farm scale by a harrow; a rake's materials and form vary greatly depending on its intended purpose.
