Hand tools used to drive or remove a screw by turning it, rather than to bore a hole or strike a blow. This includes the ordinary flat and Phillips screwdriver, interchangeable screwdriver bits used with a screwdriver or a brace, and the Yankee screwdriver, whose ratcheting push action spins the bit without the user having to keep turning the handle by hand. A powered screw driving tool such as the screw gun or impact driver is grouped instead under woodworking power tools, since a motor rather than hand turning provides the driving force.
