Corner Chisel

Woodworking Tools

A corner chisel is a woodworking tool built to cut sharp internal corners, most often to finish out a mortise or a hinge rebate after a router or a drill has already removed the bulk of the waste, since both of those methods leave rounded corners a corner chisel is then needed to square off. Its function parallels the square mortising chisel used on a dedicated mortising machine, applied instead as a hand tool.
