A scroll saw is a small electric or pedal-operated saw used to cut intricate curves in wood, metal or other materials. Its fine blade lets it cut more delicately than a power jigsaw, and more easily than a hand coping saw or fretsaw. Tilting the saw's body or table lets it cut a curve with an angled edge, and, like a hand coping saw, its blade can be removed and threaded through a pre-drilled hole, so it can cut an interior opening without needing an entry slot cut first.
