A burnisher is a hand tool used in woodworking to raise, or turn, the burr on the edge of a card scraper, the fine hooked edge that lets the scraper cut a thin shaving from wood. Its own Wikipedia lead is a single short sentence with nothing further to honestly draw on; a depth wave should look for a fuller source rather than treat this as the complete picture.
