All Sewing Cutting and Marking Tools

Hand tools that cut, measure and mark fabric and paper patterns before and during sewing, from scissors and pinking shears to the seam ripper that undoes a stitched seam. A tool belongs here when its cited source describes it as something used to cut, measure, mark or trace on cloth or sewing patterns. It excludes the needles and thimbles that carry the thread and the machines that stitch, which sit in their own groups. These tools are cheap and simple, and a sewer usually owns several, because a clean cut and an accurate mark decide whether the pieces of a garment fit together.
