Miniature Wargaming

Fighting tabletop battles with small painted figurines representing military units on a model battlefield, resolving movement and combat with dice and simple arithmetic under a chosen rules system. The hobby treats assembling, converting and painting the models as being as central as playing the games themselves, is played primarily in person at clubs and conventions, and covers both historical settings, the Second World War, the Napoleonic Wars and the American Civil War prominent among them, and invented fantasy or science-fiction settings that dominate the hobby's commercial market.
