Mancala

Mancala is a family of two-player, turn-based strategy board games played by moving small stones, beans, marbles or seeds through rows of holes or pits scooped into the earth, a carved board or another playing surface, with the goal generally being to capture some or all of an opponent's pieces; the Sport atlas already carries Mancala as a competitive game entity, and this hobby entity records the same family of games as a domestic pastime. Versions of the family predate the third century, with evidence suggesting play in ancient Egypt, making mancala one of the oldest continuously played families of games in the world.
