An inkle loom is a small hand loom used for inkle weaving, a warp-faced technique for producing narrow woven bands or trim. It is built as a wooden framework with dowels fastened to it to hold a continuous warp, and is made in both floor-standing and table-top models. The shed is created manually, by raising or lowering the warp yarns, some of which are held in place by fixed heddles.
