Footbag

Footbag is a sport and hobby built around a small, round bag, most often filled with plastic pellets or sand, that is kicked into the air as part of a competitive game or as a display of dexterity; the Hacky Sack brand, created in 1972 by Mike Marshall and John Stalberger of Oregon City and sold to Wham-O in 1983, popularized the modern Western form of the activity, and its name has since become a generic trademark for the bag itself. The hobby takes several distinct forms: circle kicking, the most common version, in which a group of players stands in a circle trying to keep the bag airborne without letting it touch the ground; freestyle footbag, a performance discipline combining choreographed tricks with music in a manner similar to rhythmic gymnastics; and footbag net, a competitive form played over a net that combines elements of tennis, badminton and volleyball.
