The craft councils, collector societies, hobbyist and guild associations and museums this atlas records as the organized, ongoing bodies of a craft or hobby's own practice, distinct from any single figure or single event. This band holds the institution's own founding, mission and role in preserving or professionalizing its craft or hobby, not the individual makers who belong to it, each linked back here by relationship.
