The pursuits people take up for leisure rather than trade: gardening, stamp and coin collecting, birdwatching, amateur radio, model railroading, genealogy, chess, homebrewing, scrapbooking, fishkeeping and geocaching among them. This band is distinct from Crafts, which holds a practiced hand discipline with its own body of technique and tradition; a hobby here is a pursuit followed for its own sake, not necessarily built toward a finished, saleable object.
