Siren Kings

Siren Kings is a primarily Pasifika underground youth subculture and hobby that began in South Auckland, New Zealand in the early 2000s and grew markedly in popularity during the mid 2010s. Participants, organized into crews, attach powerful sirens, essentially loudspeakers or public address systems, to vehicles or bicycles and compete against one another for the loudest and clearest siren sound, in organized competitions that combine technical sound equipment work with public performance. What began in Mangere and other parts of South Auckland has since spread to West Auckland and to heavily Pasifika communities in the Wellington region, particularly Porirua.
