Observing and tracking aircraft, usually documented through photography or videography, also called aircraft spotting or planespotting. Beyond simply watching aircraft, planespotters record information about airports, air traffic control communications and airline routes, building a body of hobbyist reference material around commercial and military aviation activity that the wider public rarely tracks.
