Associated craft or hobby links an institution to the specific making activity it exists to support. Wikipedia defines a guild as "a professional association of artisans and merchants who oversee the practice of their craft/trade in a particular territory," and many of today's craft and hobby societies descend from that same idea. This grouping shows which organizations stand behind a given craft or hobby.
