The National Postal Museum, in Washington, D.C., is the primary postal museum in the United States, dedicated to preserving and displaying the history of mail delivery and postal services. It opened on July 30, 1993, in the Postal Square Building, the city's former main post office built in 1914, and is operated jointly by the United States Postal Service and the Smithsonian Institution.
