Mixed Media

Craft disciplines whose medium does not fit one of the American Craft Council's single-material categories, chiefly candle making and soap making in this atlas's current holdings, both worked from wax, fat or oil rather than fiber, clay, glass, metal, leather or wood. Belongs here: candle making, soap making and any future craft entity whose medium is comparably outside the single-material disciplines. Does not belong here: any craft with its own dedicated discipline category above; Mixed Media is the American Craft Council's own residual category, not a default for anything unfamiliar.
