Metalworking Measuring and Marking Tools

Tools used to measure a dimension or mark a line or point on a metal workpiece before it is cut, drilled or machined, rather than to shape the metal itself. This includes calipers used to measure length, width or diameter, the feeler gauge used to measure the width of a small gap, the machinist square used to mark and check a right angle, the scriber used to scratch a visible layout line into a workpiece, and the automatic center punch used to mark the exact point where a hole will be drilled without needing to be struck with a hammer first.
