Pipe Cutter

A pipe cutter is a tool used to cut through pipe, generally giving a faster, cleaner and more convenient cut than a hacksaw would, though the metal it leaves behind can carry a burr on the inside of the cut that then needs to be removed. There are two common forms: a plastic tubing cutter shaped something like pruning shears, used on thinner plastic pipe, and a metal pipe cutter with a sharp cutting wheel and an adjustable jaw that grips the pipe, which the user rotates around the pipe while progressively tightening the jaw until the wheel scores through the wall of the pipe. A pipe cutter is distinct from a pipe wrench, which turns and grips pipe fittings rather than cutting through the pipe itself.
