A glass breaker is a hand tool designed to break through window glass in an emergency. It is a safety device commonly carried in vehicles to help occupants escape, and is also installed in some buildings. Most glass breakers have a sharp, pointed metal tip built to break tempered glass, and many also include a sharp, shielded blade for cutting a seat belt. The tool can stand alone or be built into another implement, such as a flashlight or a multitool.
