Card Modeling is the hobby of building scale models mainly from sheets of heavy paper, paperboard or card stock, using pre-printed pieces that are cut, punched, scored, folded and glued into their finished shape, most commonly modeling vehicles, buildings or figures at a set scale rather than folding a single sheet into a decorative form. Paper model artists often create simple designs as a form of recreation and creative expression, and experienced hobbyists in the practice sometimes scratch-build their own designs using specialized software rather than working only from published kits.
