Velology

The collecting and study of vehicle tax discs, most closely associated with the paper discs UK motorists were required to display on their windscreens between 1921 and 2014. Collectors, called velologists, acquire and catalog examples across the system's near-century of issue, tracking the changing designs, colors and security features each year's disc carried; the name combines "VEL," from vehicle excise licence, with the collecting suffix "-ology."
