Postcrossing

Postcrossing is an online project through which people exchange postcards with other members of the project around the world, under the tag line send a postcard and receive a postcard back from a random person somewhere in the world. It was founded by Paulo Magalhaes, who launched it on July 14, 2005 as his own personal hobby, born out of his enjoyment of receiving postcards, and initially ran it from an old computer kept in a closet at his home. As of March 2026 the project counted more than 805,000 members across 207 countries and territories, who had between them registered over 85 million exchanged postcards.
