Ufology

Ufology, sometimes written UFOlogy, is the investigation of unidentified flying objects by people who believe they may be of extraordinary origin. Government, private and fringe-science investigations of UFOs have all taken place, but ufology as a field is generally regarded by skeptics and science educators as an example of pseudoscience. This entity carries a shorter description than most of this wave's entries because its source article's own lead offers only this plain definition, not a history.
